The following plans have been accomplished:

  • Malone Design  prepared a Master Plan for Museum
  • Architect Robert Noble completed architectural plans for complete renovation of all floors
  • Moved most artifacts to off site storage
  • Installed elevator to allow access to 2nd floor
  • Installed new roof
  • Completed renovation of upstairs space to allow for 5,000 sq feet of event and meeting space, Archives Room, Reading Room and storage.
  • Produced timeline panels of history of Rome 1500 to present
  • Installed  HVAC system for 2nd floor
  • Now renting the upstairs space to public to provide more access to the Museum, and to help subsidize the operating  budget
  • Increase downstairs area used for speakers of local interest
  • Redesigned back entrance area to accommodate large groups
  • Reorganized and catalogued the CJ Wyatt / Roger Aycock collections and all archival information
  • Installed new permanent Coca Cola Exhibit, the C.J. Wyatt Archives Room and the Laseter Reading Room.
  • Begun process to compile concise histories for all 14 permanent exhibits.
  • Installed new computer servers for expanding digital collections
